New TH project in Bolivia

Most Latin American mines are currently faced with a serious issue in the form of the need to dehydrate their tailings before landfilling them. TH has been selected to supply a complete polymetallic tailing treatment system for the historic San Antonio pond in the Bolivian town of Potosí.

TH is to provide engineering support and assistance in constructing the plant, filter presses, pumps, vibrating screens and other auxiliary equipment.

After recent accidents involving tailings ponds around the world, there is heightened awareness among mining companies, authorities and affected communities in all mining countries. They all agree that there is a need to reduce the risk entailed by tailings ponds and optimise water resources. They must therefore apply concentration and dehydration technologies that enable as much process water as possible to be recovered and provide dehydrated waste.
