A system for dewatering concentrates of copper, iron and pyrites for the Sin Quyen 2 plant in Lao Cai (Vietnam), owned by Vinacomin Mineral Holding Corporation, the country·s biggest mining company.
Vinacomin planned to extend its mine at Sin Quyen. The facility processes three materials – hydrated pyrites, iron and copper concentrates – to obtain sulphides. Analyses showed that the company could also expect to recover significant quantities of other metals such as gold, substantial amounts of which were present at its mines.
Initially, Vinacomin planned to use ceramic disc technology for filtration, but a more in-depth study found that this was inadvisable, so the company opted to install TH filter presses.
