Finer liberation and higher production of copper concentrate at CSA Mine was not feasible with the existing Coramec disc filters that could not achieve TML.CSA therefore decided to shift all production to a filtration plant using TH filter presses.
The successes obtained at the Mt. Isa mine (also owned by Glencore) certainly contributed to the company's choosing TH to undertake the project. TH supplied two complete filtration systems: an APN18 L24 filter press with a SIX20 slurry pump to produce a total of 24 t/h of copper concentrate and an APN18 SL60 filter press with two SIX20 slurry pumps to produce 60 t/h.
