Shandong Laiwu Steel International Corporation extended one of its mines to increase its capacity to supply magnetite (and sometimes haematite) to its steel mills.
The company decided to incorporate a filter press. The most important requirement was that it should be able to work alternatively with two types of concentrate – magnetite and haematite – while maintaining consistent output with the lowest possible maintenance requirements.
Many quotes were received, and the contract was awarded to TH. A filtration plant was designed with an APN18 SL36 filter press and the slurry pumps needed to feed the equipment. This plant can produce 70 t/h.
